The Blind Nandi
An embodied journey into trust.
An intensive, trauma-informed self-experience at the sacred mountain Arunachala in Tiruvannamalai.
The Blind Nandi
The Blind Nandi is a process I have developed for people working with deep themes around trust, attachment, and control. Over the course of several hours, you will be guided in silence around the mountain — blindfolded. We walk approximately 15 km together. Slowly. Attentively. In continuous, nonverbal presence. You do not see. You do not control. You are being guided. The focus shifts entirely to your inner experience.
What this process touches
This work can activate profound inner processes, especially in relation to:
- foundational trust
- control and surrender
- nervous system regulation
- relational safety
- self-agency
Many people with early attachment wounds carry an implicit belief:
“I cannot rely on anyone.”
The Blind Nandi offers a direct, embodied counter-experience:
I can trust. I am held. I am not only surviving — I am capable of growth.
I am learning to gently expand the boundaries I once set for myself.
How the work happens
This is not a verbal process. It unfolds through direct experience:
- being guided without visual control
- staying present in uncertainty
- releasing internal control mechanisms
- remaining safe while letting go
The body learns what the mind often cannot resolve. The journey outward becomes a journey within.
Requirements & Safety
This work is intensive.
It requires:
- a preliminary conversation
- a stable psychological foundation
- willingness to engage with deep internal processes
Safety, voluntariness, and self-determination are the ground of this work at all times.
Further Offerings
Beyond Individual Sessions
Alongside therapeutic work and coaching, UrbanSoulwork offers The Blind Nandi as a unique, embodied trust experience in India.

- guided self-exploration spaces
- workshops and integration work
- trauma-sensitive group processes
- relational formats such as partner-based breathwork
- mindful encounter practices
